Santorini is a small circular archipelago of volcanic islands located in the southern Aegean Sea. Santorini is essentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion, destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and leading to the creation of the current geological caldera.

You can come in Santorini by plane from Athens all year round (takes approx. 40'). Also during the summer months planes fly directly to Santorini from Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Rhodes and Mykonos. In addition, all year round there are ferry boats connecting Piraeus with Santorini and take approx. 7-9 hours.
